Central to the 2021 Fest was the “Grassical Jamboree.” This showcase of grassical music ‒ music that bridges grass roots and classical traditions ‒ featured both nationally and locally known groups in the unique open-air setting of Witwen’s Tabernacle, built in 1918. Performers included Taylor Ackley and the Deep Roots Ensemble, UW Agroecology student Caitlin Vitale Sullivan who shared a Scandanavian musical form of cow calling, and classical string musicians Katrin Talbot & Parry Karp.
