Program Details
Tsuzamen will perform a new composition by rural sociologist and musician Dr. Michael Bell, commissioned by Wormfarm for the Decomposium. Inspired by soil horizons, or soil layers, the work transforms the unseen processes of decomposition and renewal into a musical meditation on the biological, cultural, and ecological relationships that sustain life beneath our feet.

Tsuzamen is a Madison-area group that describes itself as a world music band with a Jewish vibe. They draw on traditions from around the world, whether playing originals or some of the oldest music known. They are Samantha Bosco (electric bass); Michael Bell (guitar, mandolin, banjo, backing vocals); Dan Grabois (melodica, French horn); Meg Lamm (violin); Eleanor Mayerfeld (lead vocals, violin); and Alina Plourde (oboe, English horn, shruti box).
