Program Details

Visit the Sauk County Rainfall Simulator to learn how different management practices on farms can affect soil health and create a better environment for soil organisms to thrive and benefit agriculture. Farmers from the Sauk Soil & Water Improvement Group (SSWIG) will answer questions and give demonstrations throughout the day.

The Sauk County Land Resources and Envrionment (LRE) in partnership with the conservation farmer-led group, Sauk Soil & Water Improvement Group (SSWIG), is committed to advocating for conservation and regenerative agriculture in Sauk County. Both groups are extensively involved in outreach and education opportunities throughout the year.

Randy Zogbaum has been a soil scientist working in Wisconsin agriculture in the area now known as Soil Health for almost 30 years. He currently serves Wisconsin agriculture as the Soil Health Program Manager for Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection (DATCP) working with conservation professionals, farmers, and other agriculture professionals around the state to implement soil health systems. Randy lives in Sauk City with his family.
