Under his moniker Orillia, Andrew Marczak follows the tradition of both country music’s more progressive stewards and indie rock’s DIY cowboys, commanding audiences with his unique bracing tenor and skeletal arrangements. His self-titled debut record, which was tracked live at Jamdek in his hometown of Chicago, marries the quotidian poetry of Sam Shepard with the direct, otherworldly twang of Sparklehorse. It is expected out in November of this year.
