Myra Su is a multimedia artist and puppeteer based in Chicago. She primarily works with shadow puppets, crankie, and other 2D forms, often experimenting with integrating analog puppets with digital tech. She is currently developing a new show, STRIPES, that combines light sensors and barcode technology with tabletop puppetry. Previously, Myra has been featured at the National Puppet Slam, Chicago International Puppet Theater Festival, and the Baltimore Crankie Festival. In addition to her independent work, Myra is a touring puppeteer and builder with Manual Cinema, an Emmy Award-winning performance collective. She also co-curates Nasty, Brutish & Short: A Puppet Cabaret, a puppet slam held six times a year in Chicago.
