Kevin Carnes and Brandi Brandes are debuting a new project in collaboration with metal sculptor John Himmelfarb. Midwest Battery and Percussive Maintenance came about as John commissioned Kevin to create a piece for one of his Truck Sculptures, aka Penelope. Kevin and his wife, Brandi Brandes, a classically trained orchestral percussionist, have composed pieces rooted in themes of Working Class Industry, Cross Cultural Pollination, Social Activism, and the Circus Arts.

Kevin Carnes is a Black Surrealist and a founding and current member of Broun Fellinis, an Afro Surrealist Jazz Trio dating back to the Acid Jazz movement of the early 90s. Brandi Brandes is a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and an environmental activist working with The Savannah Institute. Their first musical collaboration was for a children's circus in San Francisco, California in 2007.
