On view Oct 1-10 plus short, repeating weekend performances between 1:00-3:30 pm (weather permitting!)

Want to celebrate the fall harvest with live dance, music, and a 20-foot-tall puppet?Minneapolis-based artist Christopher Lutter-Gardella will wow audiences with his larger-than-life marionette puppet in this family-friendly performance featuring dance by Viroqua-based WEdances Movement Collaborative.

The Farmer, made by local fabricators from Kraemer Bros., will amble across a harvested hemp field during both DTour weekends, suspended from an extendable forklift and activated by puppeteers from the region. If you’re catching a performance on Saturday, Oct 8, be sure to stop by StrassenFest in downtown Plain (just down the block!)

“Sowing the seed, my hand is one with the earth.””

Whether harvesting enormous, brightly painted vegetables made by River Valley School students, St. Luke’s Church & Youth from the Diocese of Madison — or taking a well-deserved break as every farmer needs to, now & again — the Farmer will be a mighty sight to see all 10 days of the DTour!
