Since 1999 the Wormfarm Institute has been building and upgrading its foundry. It began with a cupola for iron casting and now a crucible furnace is being added for bronze casting. The Wormcastings Foundry works with a catalyzed bonded sand moulding system. Plans are underway to build a kiln for lost wax casting.
A campaign for a Wormcastings iron pour requires a crew of 7 to 10 experienced casters dedicated to several days of hard work. The bronze casting facility, which will be much more user friendly, should be completed by late Fall of 2003. Check back soon for metal casting dates or e-mail us for more information.
